Figures are the one place a large number is set in small caps rather than the sub-display serif — it keeps them from reading as a price.
The error carries three signals, not one: the bordeaux rule, the pale tint behind it, and an icon beside the message. On a site whose brand colour is already red, none of those can be dropped.
